Android privacy policy

Park City Wildlife Rehab is the responsible entity for WildPause, an Android application providing offline wildlife education. This policy applies only to the WildPause app version 1.0.0 and is effective July 31, 2026. A separately hosted support website has its own ordinary web-server processing outside the app.
WildPause is designed for adults, families, educators, and guardian-facilitated youth. A responsible adult must supervise every child using the app or observing wildlife. The app is not designed for unsupervised child-to-organization communication and does not provide messaging, profiles, or social features.
The app presents a Pause Ring, 42 educational cards, wildlife encounter boundaries, prevention activities, a source shelf, safety information, and this privacy policy. It does not diagnose wildlife, determine orphan status, authorize handling, provide veterinary treatment, dispatch rescue, schedule intake, or promise that any organization accepts a species.
WildPause does not collect or transmit personal data. It does not request names, email addresses, phone numbers, photographs, audio, contacts, account identifiers, advertising identifiers, precise or approximate location, device identifiers, incident reports, health data, payment information, or wildlife case details.
The app may store only two small preferences on the device: a larger-text choice and a reduce-motion choice. These settings are not linked to identity, never leave the device, and can be reset from the Privacy screen or by clearing app storage.
The app has no free-text field, wildlife incident log, youth roster, attendance record, case file, health record, precise location record, or photo upload. Users should not attempt to create sensitive records through screenshots or unrelated device features.
WildPause requests no Internet permission and no dangerous Android permission. It does not request camera, microphone, location, contacts, storage, notifications, Bluetooth, phone, or calendar access. Android may add an internal signature-level package permission for platform compatibility; that permission is not accessible to other ordinary apps and is not used to collect data.
There is no registration, login, user account, cloud profile, or organization portal in WildPause. Account deletion is therefore not applicable. Users can erase local settings by using Reset local settings or Android's Clear storage control.
WildPause contains no advertising, analytics, behavioral tracking, attribution, telemetry, crash-reporting service, remote configuration, social SDK, or third-party data collection SDK. It does not build profiles or use data for AI training.
Because the app does not collect or transmit personal data, it does not sell, rent, share, or disclose personal data to advertisers, data brokers, affiliates, government bodies, or other third parties through the app.
Reference URLs are displayed as plain text for transparency. The app does not open a browser, send email, place calls, upload content, or connect to a backend. Users who independently use another app or website are governed by that provider's privacy practices. WildPause contains no live hotline, intake, drop-off, or service-availability directory.
The two optional on-device preferences remain until the user resets them, clears app storage, or uninstalls the app. The publisher receives no app data and therefore maintains no server-side retention period for app users.
Reset local settings deletes the preferences immediately. Android app storage clearing and uninstalling also remove them. Application backup and device-to-device transfer are disabled for WildPause, so the app does not intentionally copy preferences to cloud backup or a replacement device.
Data minimization, offline operation, disabled backup, and absence of network SDKs reduce exposure. No software or device is perfectly secure. Device owners remain responsible for screen locks, operating-system updates, physical access, and screenshots made outside the app.
Children must use WildPause with a parent, guardian, teacher, or other authorized adult. The app has no chat, public profile, follower, upload, targeted advertising, precise-location feature, or adult-minor messaging. A child must never approach, touch, feed, capture, transport, or photograph wildlife alone.
WildPause is general education, not veterinary care, diagnosis, wildlife rehabilitation, legal advice, animal control, public-health assessment, or emergency service. It does not authorize possession or transport of protected wildlife. Never touch a bat. Possible bite, scratch, saliva exposure, bare-skin contact, or sleeping-room exposure requires prompt guidance from healthcare or public health. For traffic, wildfire, aggressive wildlife, or danger to people, retreat and contact the appropriate emergency or public authority.
Material policy changes will be reflected in an updated app policy with a new effective date. Users may choose not to enable either preference, may reset local settings at any time, and may stop using or uninstall the app. This release does not deliver policy changes remotely.
