Space before action
These limits remain true even when a wildlife encounter feels urgent.
No handling instructions
The app never authorizes capture, restraint, transport, feeding, watering, medication, housing, or release.
Bat exposure
Never touch a bat. Possible bite, scratch, saliva exposure, bare-skin contact, or sleeping-room exposure requires prompt healthcare or public-health guidance.
Children and pets
A responsible adult supervises children. Secure pets without pursuit and never let a child approach wildlife alone.
Traffic
Stay out of travel lanes and roadside danger. Report a hazard from a safe location rather than attempting pickup.
Fire and closures
Emergency officials and evacuation rules come first. Never enter smoke, fire, or a closure to observe wildlife.
Permits and protected wildlife
Reading WildPause does not grant permission to possess or transport wildlife. Migratory birds and other species may require state or federal authorization.
Emergency limit
For danger to people, aggressive wildlife, fire, or a roadway emergency, retreat and contact the appropriate emergency or public authority. WildPause is not dispatch.
